What to Expect:
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course (or Junior Open Water Diver course), you must:
- be 10 years old or older.
- Have adequate swimming skills.
- Be in good physical health.
- No prior experience with scuba diving is required.
Estimated Time:
- E-Learning (8-12 hours)
- Confined & Open Water Course Completion (12-16 hours)
GETTING YOUR CERTIFICATION
There are two steps to any Scuba Diving Certification – learning the fundamentals via coursework and then applying what you’ve learned in the open water.
STEP 1 – ELEARNING
- Sign up for PADI Open Water Diver – click here
- eLearning coursework consists of lectures, videos, knowledge reviews & tests.
- Complete the online portion at your own pace.
- You will pay PADI directly for the eLearning portion of your Open Water Diver certification course.
STEP 2 – PRACTICAL SKILLS/Confined & open water dives
- Your Cane Bay Dive Shop trained PADI Instructor will work with you in the water to apply the skills you’ve learned.
- Learn basic scuba skills in a pool (or pool-like environment) with your instructor.
- When you’re ready, make four dives in an open water environment (the ocean) with your instructor supporting you every step of the way.
- Course Completion fees are in addition to PADI eLearning fees and paid directly to Cane Bay Dive Shop.
